Hi, I’m Alex—photographer, storyteller, and co-founder of Curious Otter Studios! My journey into photography began years ago with a camera in hand and a passion for capturing life’s most meaningful moments. Over the past decade, I’ve honed my skills, blending my love for cinematic artistry and photojournalism to document weddings in a way that feels natural, emotional, and timeless.
After studying cinematography at the Brooks Institute of Photography and working in photojournalism, I discovered my true calling—wedding photography. There’s something magical about being invited to capture a couple’s love story, preserving moments they’ll cherish forever. To me, photography isn’t just about pictures; it’s about telling a story that’s unique to you.
When I’m not behind the lens, you’ll find me spending time with my wife, Reba, and our two fur-babies, Lana (our Shiba Inu) and Loki (our mischievous polydactyl kitten). We call the East Bay our home, but we’re always up for an adventure—whether it’s hiking a new trail or photographing a wedding on a mountaintop.
